  2. Donations qualify for tax exemption

    Donations made to the Swiss branch of ‘Amis de Svieta – Friends of Svieta’ are tax-deductible in Switzerland!
    The following applies only to people paying Swiss taxes!

    The association qualified for tax exemption as certified by the canton Bern (in order to read or to print this document you need the software Adobe Acrobat® which can be downloaded for free from here).
    At the beginning of each year we will automatically send you a certificate allowing you to claim a tax exemption on your taxes with your canton (please check with your local tax authorities for validity of the above tax exempt statement).

  3. Viktor is back from Kiev

    Viktor had to stay longer in hospital in Kiev after his heart surgery. He had recovered well and traveled back to Nikolaiev by train on October 2, 2021 (the outward journey was done by ambulance).

  4. Egor must be brought back to Kiev

    News 19.9.2021: Egor is on his way to Kiev!

    Viktoria Dobrzhynska is now traveling with Egor and a nurse on the night train from Nikolaiev to Kiev. The journey takes 9.5 hours for a distance of almost 500 km.

    We estimate the cost of his 3rd trip to Kiev to the eye clinic to be €250.

  5. Three children on the way to Kiev

    Three children are on the way to Kiev this night: Egor, Elena and Viktor.
    Two children travel by night train with Vika and one child travels in an ambulance.

  6. An association is born!

    After months of preparation, the creation of the logo, a flyer and a newsletter was on the agenda for this summer. This caused the steering committee some headaches, as well as a lot of work and joy!

  7. Viktor must go to the heart clinic in Kiev

    Viktor was abandoned by his mother right after birth at the maternity house. He suffers from numerous medical conditions, including: congenital heart disease, brain damages, duodenal obstruction, mental, motor, psychological delays.

  8. Sofia is getting protein-rich food

    As a reminder, Sofia underwent surgery in Kiev in August 2020. The operation was long and difficult and Sofia spent 20 days in intensive care, where she barely survived. Her brain was too badly affected and the girl has no swallowing reflex.

    Our friends from USA, Helen and Jim Smith (Svieta Inc.) immediately agreed to support Sofia financially when we asked them. more

  10. Incorporation of the new association Freunde von Svieta / Amis de Svieta

    We are pleased to inform you that the incorporation of the new association Freunde von Svieta / Amis de Svieta 2.0 took place on June 26th 2021. Thus, there is again an active association with an active steering committee.

    Unfortunately, even after the first 20 years of support, the situation in Ukraine is still such that the disabled children in the orphanages urgently need our help. Therefore, a group of 5 people have decided to found the second edition of Freunde von Svieta / Amis de Svieta. more
